SUPER STOCK RULES
DRIVERS WILL NOT ACQUIRE ANY POINTS UNTIL THEY BECOME A MEMBER OF THE N.I.D.R.A.

1. BODY - Any 1960 and newer American made rear wheel drive passenger
car allowed. No front wheel drive, No convertibles, permitted.
Minimum wheelbase of 101” measured on
shortest side. Minimum weight 3000 lbs. with driver.
2. Body must be a complete STEEL unit with the exception of a
fiberglass/aluminum hood or trunk lid if it was O.E.M. when made. After
market nose and tail sections allowed. Home made doors may be used but
must be built from no less than 20 gauge sheet metal . Aftermarket
body parts of fiberglass or aluminum OK.

. No altering, shortening, channeling, chopping of body permitted. Backtrunks spoilers not higher than 3”. No air dams or ground effects.
4. Stock bumpers mandatory and will be strapped to body.
5. Stock firewall and full floorboard required inside of body. Driver’s area
will have complete and sealed firewall between engine and trunk area.
6. Inner front and rear fender wells may be removed. All trunk area floor
may be removed.
7. Doors must be welded or bolted securely shut.
8. Hoods will run at all times except when damaged.
9. All glass must be removed. Metal screen no larger than ½” allowed and
must cover windshield area.
10. Rub rails on body permitted with 1 ¼ “ O.D. minimum diameter and
must be within 1 ½” of body panel.
11. Front and rear tow chain loop required.
12. ALL CARS MUST BE NEAT IN APEARENCE!! NO DARK
COLORED CARS! Car numbers must be at least 18” tall on doors and
at least 24” on the roof in an EASY TO SEE COLOR!

13. FRAMES - American made steel frame only. Frame must be Ford to
Ford, GM to GM, ect. NO aftermarket frames permitted. Unibody
frames must be connected at each end with MINIMUM 2” x 3” .120
wall tubing. Tubular frame permitted behind driver. Subject to Tech
Committee approval.
14. WHEELS - Steel wheels ONLY - NOT to exceed 10” in width - NO
bead locks - Reinforced or racing wheels recommended. NO BLEEDER
VALVES ALLOWED.
15. TIRES - Tire width not to exceed 11”. Race tires or DOT approved
highway tires. Sipping and grooving optional.
No aggressive tractiontire allowed pinned for studs.
16. MUD FLAPS - Mud flaps must be 16” wide and 2” from the ground.
Mud flaps must extend outside of the tires and be securely mounted to
the car. MUD FLAPS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED !!!
17. SUSPENSION - O.E.M. STEEL leaf sprigs, torsion bars, and coil
springs ONLY. Mounting and location must remain stock on frame.
Weight jacks bolts and adjustable shackles permitted. NO coil over
shocks, coil over eliminators, air shocks, fifth arms, or aluminum
shocks. NO independent rear axles. NO rack and pinion steering.
Steering box must be in stock location and may be quickened.
bars allowed but must be O.E.M. components. All suspension
components will remain unaltered and stock with the exception of
modifying for shock mounting and weight jacks.
Third link and Pan hardbar OK.
18. REAR END - Any stock rear end allowed but must be in stock location
and use stock mounting for frame. No truck or quick change rear ends.
Full floaters legal. Rear end may be locked. NO truck trailing arms
permitted. Any gear ratio allowed.
19. DRIVE LINE - Drive shaft must be painted white. Drive lines must be
strapped or chained at both ends for safety.
Aluminum drive linesallowed.

20. ROLL BARS - Must be a six point STEEL cage type with a minimum
tubing size of .095 wall by 1 ¾ “ O.D. Cage must be welded to main
frame with gussets at all six points. Must be boxed in at the top and
“X” behind the driver. Must be a minimum clearance of 3” between
driver with helmet on and bottom of halo. Cage on Unibody frames will
have 6 minimum 4” square plates 3/16” thick welded to cage and bolted
with 4, 3/8” bolts to floor.
Driver’s side of cage will have at least 3 doorbars and a minimum of 2 door bars on the other side with a minimum of
2 bars vertical between each door bar. a plate that covers the driver’s
side door bars top to bottom is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED.
Cagemust be braced from side to side. ALL WELDS IN MAIN CAGE MUST
BE GUSSETED. Roll cage is subject to inspection for construction and
workmanship at any time. A 1/8” inspection hole must be drilled in main
cage, driver’s side upright. Padding of roll cage in driver’s area
MANDATORY.
21. SEAT - Racing seat MANDATORY. Seat must be mounted roll cage or
main frame. Head rest recommended. Subject to inspection.
22. BRAKES - O.E.M. brake components ONLY. Brakes must be on all
four wheels and be able to skid all wheels on brake check. No
aftermarket brakes or hubs. Minimum of 5/8” diameter wheel studs
MANDATORY. O.E.M. disc brakes may replace O.E.M. drum brakes
assembly but must remain same make.
23. TRANSMISSION - Any O.E.M. production transmission with working
forward and reverse gear. Automatic transmissions allowed but must
have working torque converter. Manuel transmission must use a stock
type cloth disc and pressure plate assembly with a minimum 10” clutch
disc. No multiple disc or ram type clutches. Aluminum flywheel
optional. Approved steel scatter shield/bell housing or blanket
MANDATORY.
24. FUEL CELL - Fuel cells MANDATORY with metal outer casing, and
foam inside the bladder. Fuel cell must be secured in trunk area by two
or more 1/8” x 1” steel straps or bolted, and must be protected on all
sides and bottom. Subject to inspection. Fuel cell area must be
completely sealed from driver compartment.

25. FUEL - Pump or racing gas only - NO methanol, nitrous oxide, nitro
methane permitted. No electric fuel pump. All fuel lines in driver’s
compartment must be fully enclosed in metal. Braided line allowed.
AllFuel line must be metal to within 10” of connections.No electric fuelpumps.
26. ENGINE - No cubic inch limit. No overhead camshafts. Stroker motors
allowed. Blocks, manifold O.E.M. only. Aluminum intake manifolds
optional. Stock production cast iron heads, porting, grinding, or
polishing of intake exhaust or combustion chambers allowed. Headers
optional.
After market heads allowed but CANNOT be ported andpolished.
A. CARBURATORS - 2 or 4 barrel carburetor of production type,
choke horn mandatory. Holley replacement carburetor O.K.
Maximum of 1” thick spacer block permitted between carburetor
and intake manifold. Maximum of
750 CFM. No internalmodification other than power valve and jets. Air cleaner required.
B. CAMSHAFTS - No roller camshafts, roller lifter or gear drives.
Hydraulic or flat tappet camshafts only. Aluminum or steel billet
rocker arms optional. Stamped steel or cast roller rocker arms
permitted.
C. Oil pan capacity may be modified but must be a factory wet sump
system.
D. After market ignitions and MSD boxes allowed. No magnetos or
crankshaft type ignitions. Engines must be make to make such as
Ford to Ford, GM to GM.
E. Engine location to be centered between main frames rails and in
stock location.

27. SEAT BELTS - Must be quick release racing five point system. Lap
belts must be 3” minimum. Shoulder Belts must be 3” minimum with a
2” sub-belt. Belt systems mounting must be attached to cage or frame
with grade 5 bolts or better. Subject to inspection. Window net required
on driver’s side.
28. HELMET - MUST BE WORN AT ALL TIMES ON TRACK. Helmet
must meet Snell standards and be in good condition.
29. SUIT - Fire suit of flame-retardant material must be worn by the driver.
Nomex suits recommended. Gloves, shoes, and underwear of fire-
resistant material are recommended to be worn while driving.
30. SAFETY - One working 2 ¼ lb. ABC dry chemical or HALON fire
extinguisher must be mounted within reach of the driver. No oil coolers
in driver’s compartment. Battery must be securely mounted and covered
if in driver’s area (No rubber or nylon straps, MUST be metal straps or
rods). Any ballast weight must be bolted on with ½” bolts and painted
with car number on it. Pull back strap on gas pedal, to pull back throttle
is MANDATORY! Kill switch that shuts off battery MUST be marked
by fluorescent color to cue safety personnel.
31. NO RADIO - NO RADIO COMMUNICATIONS EQUIPMENT
PERMITTED
32. NO MIRRORS OR REFLECTIVE DEVICES.
